How getting found on Google works

Three steps.

  1. 01

    Somebody needs your work

They pull out a phone. They have never heard of you, so they type "excavator near me." Or they just ask ChatGPT.

  2. 02

    Something answers them

That answer is not always your website. It is your Google profile, your pages, and a few listings you have never logged into.

  3. 03

You are on that list, or you are not

Keeping all of that correct is the entire job. There is no trick to it. It is just constant.

It is a boring list of chores that has to get done every month. That is exactly why we do it for you.

WHAT COUNTS

What actually makes you show up

Everything that decides whether Google puts you on the list, and who handles each piece.

Share of what decides it Who handles it
  • 32% Your Google profile We do it Category, hours, services, photos, posts. The panel with your name, hours, photos and reviews that shows up before any website does. Google owns it, not you, and most contractors have never logged into theirs. The fields are where the weight sits. Your primary category, the services listed under it, your hours, your service area, your description. A wrong category can keep you out of a search entirely, and a service you run every week that is not listed cannot be matched to anybody looking for it. We go through all of it, fix what is wrong, and fill in what was never filled in. Then we post four times a month, built from the job photos already on your site. That keeps the profile active, and a post with a real machine on a real job gets tapped. The stock photo most agencies fill the feed with does not. We will be straight about the split, because most companies are not. The profile fields are what carry the 32 percent. The posting is what keeps it current and gets people to tap through. Anyone selling you profile posts as a ranking trick is guessing.
  • 15% The pages on your website We do it A real page for a real service in a real town. Google matches a search to a page, not to a business. Somebody types “septic install in Bastrop.” If you have no page about septic installs in Bastrop, there is nothing for it to match. So the page is not a guess. Every month we pull what people near you actually searched, and aim at one you are already landing on page two for. The demand is proven and you are close. What is missing is a page that answers it. We build that page around one real service, in one real town, with your photos on it. Then we run the numbers again next month. Every page stays on your site whether you keep paying us or not.
  • 6% Your listings We do it Small for Google, big for AI answers. The places besides Google that list your business. Apple Maps, Bing, Yelp, the trade directories. Six percent sounds small, and for Google it is. But this is where an old phone number or a dead address is usually still sitting, and it is what the AI answers read when somebody asks them for a contractor. We check five of them every month and fix what has drifted.
  • 20% Your reviews You do it Recent and steady, not just the total. We flag the day it stalls, but the ask stays with you, because the FTC's fake review rule puts it on your license, not ours. How recent they are, how steady the pace is, and whether anybody answers them. A hundred reviews that all stopped two years ago count for less than a steady handful. We cannot ask on your behalf. The FTC’s rule on fake and incentivized reviews puts that on your license, not ours, and no honest company will touch it. What we do is watch the pace and tell you the month it stalls, so the ask happens while the job is still fresh.
  • 8% Backlinks We don't sell this The thing every SEO company sells you. Other websites linking to yours. Real ones, from real places, are worth something. This is the line item every SEO company sells, because it is easy to invoice and almost impossible for you to check. Bought links are also the fastest way to get a small site penalized. We do not sell it and we do not buy it. If you earn one from a supplier or the local paper, it counts, and it costs nothing.
  • 19% Everything else Nobody controls it Proximity, personalization, how people behave. How far you are from the person searching, what they have clicked before, what device they are on, and whatever Google changed last week. Nobody controls any of it. Anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. It is on the list so the other 81 percent adds up honestly.

HOW YOU KNOW IT IS WORKING

You do not have to take our word for it

We’ll send you a report every month. Here’s where the numbers come from.

Source: Google

What your profile did

Calls, direction requests and website clicks. Google counts these, not us.

Source: Google

What you showed up for

Every search you appeared in and where you sat. Straight from Search Console.

Source: your site

What actually came in

Form fills and calls off your website. This one is our number, not Google’s.

You can log into Google yourself and check our work. Most agencies would rather you did not.

BEFORE YOU ASK

Straight answers

No, and nobody can promise that. Google warns business owners about anyone who does. What we promise is a list of work done every month and a number you can check.
Your monthly plan hosts your site and keeps it online. This is new work every month: a page written and shipped, four posts made, five platforms checked, and a report put together. Your site is the asset. This is what gets people to it.
Profile and listing work shows up fastest, because it fixes what is wrong today. Pages compound slower. We will not put a week count on it, because anybody who does is guessing.
Then you know the routine. A login you never used, a monthly call, a PDF, and a line item for backlinks. We do none of those.
Yes, and your website is not affected. The pages we built for you stay on your site either way.
